In a world of constant…
striving for more,
doing better,
working hard,
and
wanting to fit in,
keeping up with the Joneses,
dressing to impress,
not to mention
making sure loved ones are well cared for,
providing for everyone else as best you can,
and keeping important people around you happy….
As the weekend approaches, take a moment, or even a day or two to raise a glass to yourself. I’m pretty sure that you’re awesome! If you’ve been mulling over any of the above statements at any point in your life, you deserve to take some time to reflect on your own greatness.
Make a list of:
– All the things you’ve accomplished in your life, or even this week. Celebrating the small accomplishments keeps you in a state of celebration more often than not. You will soon start to feel great about yourself ALL the time.
– All the reasons you’re great without DOING a thing. Focus on the greatness of who you are from the inside out. We were all born with treasures inside. Pay attention to yours and honor them.
– All the great things you are constantly surrounded with. Life in and of itself is a tremendous blessing. It is the manifestation of God’s love to its fullest extent. Do you have loving family and friends? Do you have a warm and comfortable home? Can you see the sky and feel the sunshine? You wouldn’t be able to experience any of this if you weren’t blessed with life. You were hand picked to experience these blessings.
There doesn’t have to be a specific or special occasion to celebrate. Simply being you is reason enough.
“Each of us feels that we are just a drop in the ocean, but the ocean would be less without that missing drop.” – Mother Teresa
“Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else.” – Judy Garland
“Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.” – Dr. Seuss
“The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are.” – Joseph Campbell
