Song of the Week: “Just The Way You Are” by Bruno Mars
Delving into personal and spiritual development can be tricky. It suggests that you must constantly be developing or changing in some way. The truth is, “you’re amazing just the way you are.” But many times we don’t believe that statement because we don’t always see the real truth about ourselves. We always see the need to improve so we are led to resources that we feel will help us do just that.
But on the contrary, the true objective of personal and spiritual development principles is to break down the barriers you’ve created around yourself, shed the heavy and oppressive layers you’ve packed on yourself, and eliminate the false limiting beliefs you’ve put on yourself, so that you can get down to the truth of who you really are. Because to put it simply, who you are is amazing. The trick is to get you to truly believe it. When you do, your whole life will change.
“I know, I know,
When I compliment her she won’t believe me,
And it’s so, it’s so
Sad to think that she don’t see what I see”
This is why “Just The Way You Are” by Bruno Mars is so perfect for today’s message. The first time I heard it I immediately fell in love with it. I’m sure the same happened with many women around the globe. The reason that this song resonated with so many people is because it is a universal truth. And somewhere deep inside we all know it. We just have to get our mind to link up with our inner knowing, and that image of ourselves that we’ve all been longing for will finally appear.
“If perfect’s what you’re searching for then just stay the same”
So the next time you look in the mirror, make sure to sing these lyrics to yourself. It feels wonderful to hear this message from others, but just like his lyrics suggest, we don’t always believe them. The more we begin to tell ourselves this truth, the more we will learn to own it.
Enjoy this great song and its beautiful lyrics.
