Song of the Week: “Sweeter” by Kim Burrell

Song of the Week: “Sweeter” by Kim Burrell

This is officially my new favorite song!  I love everything about it.

First of all, I have to say that the lyrics in this song are an exact replica of my relationship with God right now and how it continues to grow and blossom.  I just LOVE that Kim Burrell has put this concept in such a HOTT song!  I can groove to it all day long and know that it is absolutely true for me, and that feels amazing.

I also love everything about the video… From the breathtaking scenery, to her beautiful dresses, to the pure happiness that pours off of her throughout the entire video.  I just love how happy and free she looks in every scene.

Let me say that word FREE again.  I adore the fact that she is yet another one of the gospel artists that has broken the mold and become more FREE in their expression of the relationship they have with God.  This video is a perfect example of how enjoying the very essence of life, bringing God into every situation, and learning how to love Him more everyday is what truly being in relationship with Him is all about. Not until you get into an authentic and personal relationship with Him do you become FREE of other people’s expectations of exactly how you should celebrate Him and live your life.

This video and song are beautiful expressions of abundant living.  Enjoy!

Make your everyday sweeter with this song on your playlist:

Share your thoughts in the comments: What did you think of the video?  What songs make you just enjoy life and your relationship with God?

Peace, Love, & Music,

~Alexis~
