Song of the Week: “There’s Hope” by India.Arie

Song of the Week: “There’s Hope” by India.Arie

This song holds a soft spot for me because if you pay attention to the title of this website, you’ll see that “hope” means a lot to me.

I learned from some of my lowest moments that all you need is an inkling of hope to completely change your world.  When you have hope, your outside circumstances no longer affect you because all you see is the glimmer of light, and all you feel is the warmth in your heart that hope brings.

And so today’s song is definitely one of my favorite feel good songs because of the joy and positive perspective it brings.

Enjoy these simple yet powerful lyrics and allow them to brighten your day today.

“Stand up for your rights
Keep shining your light
And show the world your smile
There’s Hope.”

  1. Hmmm… I guess I create my own paradise by thinking of the kind of person I would like to be, the kind of life I would like to live and then adding a little… spice (fantasy). It’s definitely a place I would love to be. Great song.

  2. Thanks Lanre. Paradise in your mind is more about looking around at your life right now and appreciating it for what it is, finding the blessings and the grace in your life and in who you are right now. Looking toward the future is always a good thing and is very important for success in life. But being able to appreciate the simple yet profound things such as smiling and laughing (like the songs suggests), and all the things we are blessed with everyday is what creates our own paradise in our minds.
